What is a Riwaq (رواق)?

In Islamic architecture, the riwaq is a corridor or space between two columns containing vertical arches or rows of columns. They are often found between the courtyards and inner areas of mosques. In the past, riwaqs were used as gathering places for traditional circles of knowledge. These spaces served as vibrant hubs for intellectual and spiritual growth.

Drawing inspiration from this rich heritage, Riwaq Alfalah seeks to revive the spirit of the traditional learning circles that once thrived within the riwaqs of mosques. Riwaq Alfalah aims to cultivate a nurturing environment where individuals of all ages can deepen their understanding of Islam. Under the guidance of Alfalah’s Religious Director, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed, our program offers a comprehensive curriculum encompassing various Islamic disciplines. From the foundational knowledge for young minds to advanced studies for seekers of deeper understanding, Riwaq Alfalah strives to cultivate a community deeply rooted in Islamic knowledge and values, empowering individuals to navigate their faith with confidence, understanding, and pride in their Islamic identity.

Course: Foundations of Belief (Part III) – Reports (the Unseen)

This course will explore the unseen world in Islam, including angels, revelation, destiny, and the afterlife. Students will learn to respond to modern misconceptions and strengthen their understanding of iman in the unseen.

Course Objectives:

Understand Seerah to better grasp the Quran
Deepen love for the Prophet ﷺ
Apply lessons from Seerah in daily life
Strengthen resilience as individuals and communities
Represent Islam with clarity and wisdom
Learn Dawah methods and counter misconceptions

Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ – The Madani Era

Instructor Bio:
Nadeem holds a bachelor’s in Islamic studies from Al-Maghrib Institute and is pursuing his master’s in Quran at the International Islamic University of Minnesota. He studied under scholars like Shaykh Yasir Qadhi and Yaser Birjas. He served as Ameer of Al-Maghrib New York, organized seminars for over 10 years, and led guided educational tours to places such as Spain, Jerusalem, and Umrah. He is active in Dawah and interfaith outreach.

Course Description:
This course explores the Madani period of the Seerah through interactive and practical discussions. Students will study key events of the Prophet’s ﷺ life in Madinah and connect them to personal and community life today.
